Answering Your Questions About Paleo

Have you stopped in Tucker&Co and noticed the "paleo" label on our granola? Perhaps it caught your attention and raised questions. What does "paleo" mean? Is paleo also gluten-free? Are all granolas paleo? We are here to answer these questions for you.

What does "paleo" mean?
Paleo is a diet and lifestyle choice that returns to the basics of human eating - fruits, vegetables, lean meats, fish, eggs, nuts, and seeds. The term "paleo" is shortened from Paleolithic - think Paleolithic Era with cavemen and hunter-gatherers. Any products including dairy, grains, refined sugar, and heavily processed foods are not paleo-friendly.

Is paleo also gluten-free?
Yes - for granola to be paleo, it cannot contain any grains, so by definition, if something qualifies as paleo, it is also gluten-free.

Are all granolas paleo?
No - grains like wheat, oats, and barley might appear in granolas that are not paleo-friendly. At our Bakery Café, we offer an additional selection of gluten-free oat-based granolas (not paleo, but still delicious)!

We are proud that our paleo line of granola contains grain-free and refined sugar-free ingredients. Each batch of our delicious granola begins with nuts like almonds and pecans before blending in the flavors that make each variety unique. Our granola would not be complete without the iconic all-natural sweetener duo: honey and date syrup.
