Fruits and vegetables in season now and how to use them

One of the best things about a new season is that there are new fruits and vegetables! It can be hard to keep track of what is available and when you can get it, so we created a list your favorite fruits and vegetables that are coming into season this fall and some ideas of what to do with them!

Fruits

Apples- Have you tried throwing some apples in with your pork chops? Check out this sheet pan pork chops with apple recipe!

Cranberries- Cranberries are a staple for the holidays but, if you want to make something other than cranberry sauce, try throwing cranberries and other fruits and veggies that are in season (brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes) in a bowl with some of your favorite ingredients for a harvest bowl

Pomegranates- A lot of the fruits and vegetables this season pair well together, including pomegranates and pears! Make a pear and pomegranate salad with goat cheese, apples, and pecans

Figs- Figs are the perfect addition to charcuterie boards! Add some sweetness to the salty and savory elements of your board!

Pears- Roast some pears, sweet potatoes and onion in a pan with your choice of oil and salt and pepper for a sweet and savory side dish!

Veggies

Brussel sprouts- Harvest chicken casserole is a great way to combine other veggies that are in season! Add chicken, brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes, cranberries and your favorite seasonings to this dish to make it your own!
